Napa Farmers Market Elects Two New Board Members
Board additions position market for continued growth in 2018
NAPA, CA (November 1, 2017) – Derek Bromley and Sandra Richardson have been elected to the board of directors of the non-profit Napa Farmers Market, which oversees two weekly markets in Napa and a weekly market in American Canyon.
Derek Bromley is founder of Ohm Coffee Roasters, a popular “Third Wave” specialty coffee purveyor and Napa Farmers Market vendor. A former sommelier and dot-com founder who has spent his career in fine food and beverage, Bromley relocated from New York to Wine Country in 2001. He has held senior executive roles with several Napa and Sonoma County wineries, most recently as chief marketing officer for Hess Family Wine Estates. When not at the coffee cupping table, Derek also plays lead guitar with local favorite The N2L Band and is an avid home chef. He lives in Napa with his wife (and bandmate), Jen, and their two children.
Sandra Richardson is the founder of Constrained Gourmet, a resource for people who want to maintain a gourmet lifestyle while navigating the everyday constraints of life. Since relocating to Napa earlier this year, Sandra volunteers at the Napa Farmers Market providing regular Chef’s Demonstrations. Sandra is committed to the farm-to-table movement and the use of local, seasonal ingredients. Sandra is also a former technology entrepreneur and continues to help and mentor growing businesses through her management consulting practice.
“I am pleased to welcome Derek and Sandra to the team,” said David Layland, president of the Napa Farmers Market board. “Both bring a wealth of entrepreneurial and executive experience, which will serve us well as we continue to grow the Napa Farmers Market as our community’s gathering place, centered around local artisan ingredients, foods and goods.”
The Napa Farmers Market provides a celebration of community, world-class produce and artisan goods. Throughout the season, the Napa Farmers Market hosts more than 50 local farms, many of them certified organic, offering sustainably grown fruits, vegetables, herbs, flowers, meats, seafood and eggs. The market also provides a venue for local nonprofit organizations, handmade products from regional artisans and vendors of fresh bakery items, honey, cheeses and jams. The Napa Farmers Market takes place from mid-April to Thanksgiving on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 195 Gasser Drive, Napa, CA 94559. www.napafarmersmarket.org
