FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Napa, CA (July 18, 2018) — A new radio show hosted by two local farmers markets has officially launched on Napa Valley’s radio station, KVON 1440 AM. Sponsored by American AgCredit, “Farmers Fresh Hour” airs every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and features rotating hosts from the Napa Farmers Market and St. Helena Farmers Market. Each week, guests may tune in to hear chats with growers, food experts and chefs and hear the stories behind the farms and the food, tips for healthy living, market trivia, and ideas for how to turn farmers market purchases into fantastic meals. The live stream can be heard on kvon.com and past episodes will also be available online.

“While our markets are well supported by the local community, there are so many great stories to be told,” said co-host and Napa Farmers Market Board Member Tia Butts. “‘Farmers Fresh Hour’ gives us a platform to have a deeper conversation about our local foods, artisans and community organizations in an entertaining, engaging and educational way. We are very appreciative to KVON and American AgCredit for providing this opportunity.”

KVON station owner, Will Marcencia, shares the excitement, “Our partnership with both farmers markets is a testament that KVON is here to serve the needs of our community. With the importance of farmers markets in communities, we knew this was a great fit to our content and a major benefit to the North Bay. We are the only radio station in the North Bay, and amongst only a few in the country, who has a farmers market show.”

The first show officially aired on July 5th and included special guests Paul Stonebarger of G & S Farms, a popular Brentwood corn producer, Chef and Instructor Stephen Durfee of the CIA at Greystone and Karla Martinez, Health Education Specialist for Napa County WIC Program.

Upcoming shows will include guests from farms and organizations such as the Farmers Market Coalition, Long Meadow Ranch, The Restaurant at Meadowood, Contimo Provisions and Sticky Business Barbecue, among others.
