Enjoy Free Chef Cooking Demos at the Farmers Market each Saturday!
Napa Valley is a world-renowned destination for fine dining, but our Wine Country restaurants provide a wide variety of experiences. We have Michelin-starred restaurants with celebrity chefs, casual trattorias, taquerias (and taco trucks!), French bistros, family-friendly pizzerias, sushi bars, wine bars and pubs. Several of these establishments are on the San Francisco Chronicle’s Top 100 list. Our best chefs are firm believers in following the seasons and highlighting local ingredients. Some of them shop the farmers market every week.
We are proud to present a rotating cast of these talented chefs, caterers and cookbook authors every week for a cooking demo on our farmers market stage. If you like to cook or want to improve your cooking skills, please join us for the Chef Cooking Demonstrations at 10 a.m. every Saturday. Each chef demonstrates how to prepare a dish using ingredients from the market that week. You can watch, get ideas for your own kitchen and pick up the ingredients to make the featured dish at home. You’ll get to sample the featured dish and go home with the recipe. The chef demonstrations are interactive, and you are encouraged to ask questions and gather advice for how to use what you buy at the farmers market. There is plenty of seating for these demos, which usually last about a half-hour.
Chef Greg Cole is the founder of Cole’s Chop House and Celadon, two prominent restaurants in Napa. As a local celebrity chef and board member of the Napa Farmers Market, he oversees the Chef Cooking Demonstrations. He is in charge of selecting and recruiting the top chefs and cookbook authors who appear on our stage. The Chef Cooking Demonstrations are one of the most popular events at the Saturday farmers market.
